Pharmacies

I've come to the conclusion there are as many "drug stores" in Mazatlan as there are places to eat. However, like eating places, there are some that are better than others. My advice is to go to the best and most reliable pharmacy when purchasing prescription medication, especially if you are refilling a prescription that was written outside of Mexico. My pharmacy recommendations resulted from surveying Sharp Hospital affiliated Doctors and the following four are listed in a somewhat size sequence.

Farmacia Benavides is a large chain pharmaceutical store with locations throughout Mazatlan and Mexico. They also provide 1 hour Kodak photo services at Costco or less prices. They have one store in the Golden Zone at Camaron Sabalo 216 that is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm. It is located in the block south of Farmacia Moderna and near the cinema.

Farmacia Moderna is one of the oldest and most reliable drug stores in Mazatlan. Besides their main store downtown and many others throughout the city, they have two drug stores in the Golden/Platinum Zones. One is across the street from the Inn at Mazatlan, just a few stores south from the corner of Gabriel Ruiz and Camaron Sabalo. The other one is located on the corner of Bugambilia and Camaron Sabalo and it is open 24 hours daily.

Farmacia Cruz Verde is another long established business with other stores in Mazatlan. Their Golden Zone store is on Camaron Sabalo #1306 and is open daily from 8 am to 12 pm. They are located just south of Panama Cafe on the same side of the street.

Farmacia Belmar is within the group of being one of the oldest and reliable drug stores in Mazatlan. They have one store in the Golden Zone and one in downtown. In the Golden Zone their store is on Camaron Sabalo 1504 and they are open daily from 8 am to 11 pm. They are just north of the "Dairy Queen" corner stoplight on the east side of the street
